HMS Revenge at the Battle of Jutland

Abstract

This post presents extracts from the diary of T.F. Richards of his experience aboard HMS Revenge during the Battle of Jutland, 1916. The notebook featured here, with its various enclosures, is among the private papers of Thomas Richards’s descendants. It opens with details and general characteristics and dimensions of HMS Revenge.  The diary then begins on 1 February 1916, the date on which Revenge was commissioned, and continues until 5 June of the same year, a few days after the Battle of Jutland.
