This reference work lists the names of all the roughly 2,800 Royal Navy officers who reached the rank of ‘‘post captain’’ between the accession of George I in 1714, and that of William IV in 1830. The names are presented in order of seniority, based on the date on which each individual was promoted to Captain. For each entry, dates for promotions to other ranks are provided, and honours and awards are briefly noted. The document can be searched by downloading it as a PDF.
